What's new

We are finally putting patterns to sell on Ravelry. Yeah! We are having fun making new designs with Tunisian Crochet. Stay tuned. Both of us are busy working on patterns for our shows in August and September. Having fun. Not enough time in the day. Dianne and Kathy

It was brought to our attention that we have not posted in a very long time!!!!!!! We have been very busy designing and teaching. We are currently designing with yarns from Autumn House Farm, Briar Rose, Holiday Yarns, and the Plymouth Yarn company. We did 3 fiber shows in March and April. We exhibited at the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival, Black Swamp Market Day in Bowling Green and A Knitter's Fantasy and saw lots of old friends and made many new ones. Our next show is the Mid-Ohio Fiber Fair in Newark Ohio August 2nd and 3rd. We are currently looking into putting our patterns in the Ravelry pattern store. A lot of our patterns can be purchased on Craftsy and our website which is under construction at the moment. Hopefully we'll talk soon. Dianne and Kathy

A Busy Fall

Fall has been a very busy time for us.
We had a booth at A Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs, Ohio. What a great weekend! Saw lots of great people and we sold a lot of patterns. It's so nice when we work so hard at getting ready for a show that they like your designs. The weather was great and the gelato is amazing.
A week later we had a booth at Knitter's Day Out at Central Pennsylvania College. Again a great weekend. They were so well organized and very helpful and generous. We met many serious knitter's and sold many patterns.
Two weeks later we did a trunk show for a "Sheepover" put on by Knit Wit Knits in Salem, Ohio.
We saw many old friends and had a great day. Kay was very gracious and welcoming. She really puts on a nice weekend.
On Sat of this week we are doing a local designer day at River Colors Studio in Lakewood, Ohio. We are looking forward to being there and hope they like the designs we have recently added to the collection.
We have over 90 patterns on the Website! Wow!
Dianne and I both are working on making Christmas presents. It is fun to create something for the special people in your life.
I'm also knitting for a special baby that is due in Feb.
Neither one of us is bored and are really enjoying teaching and designing.
Til next time,

New Designs

Just came back from the post office. We mailed a new original design for Creatively Dyed Yarns. We really hope she likes it. You can see it after this weekend on our website www.eweandioriginals.com It's called the Woodbrook cardigan. Other designs will be added too.

The UPS man just came and brought both of us yarn from The Brown Sheep Company. We are very excited to be designing for them!!

Almost done with the little girl's cardigan I'm doing. It is an a-line design with lacey cables at the bottom. The name of the design will be Ellie after the granddaughter of a student of mine.

Today I need to be knitting on my side to side cardigan for the two classes I am teaching next week.

Not enough time in the day!!!!!!!

Yesterday Dianne brought over a new version of the Christina shawl. She used a beautiful light variegated yarn from Interlacements. We need to do a new photo.

We have a website!

We are so excited to finally say that we have a website. It's eweandioriginals.com and it was put together primarily by Kathy's grandson Joey and Kathy using Intuit software.
So far the best sellers are on there - we have a little over half of the patterns posted. The rest we are probably going to take new pictures or revise in some way - but more is coming.
We set it up so that you can buy patterns through Paypal
Kathy is working on a custom designed sweater for Creatively Dyed Yarns as well as a new side to side sweater and a really cute little girl's sweater.
I'm finishing up an aran inspired design and a partially side to side yoked sweater or vest.
We always have more ideas crowding to get out of our brains.

Last weekend we were at TNNA in Columbus. We took several really informative classes, saw friends, and made some very interesting contacts with yarn companies. We hope to be working with Brown Sheep Yarn Company in particular and we have some more ideas for sweaters suited to their yarns.

We never got the time to post about our trip to Dayton doing a workshop for the Dayton Knitting Guild. We had a very nice time meeting new knitters and seeing some familiar faces as well.
The Guild is very large and very active. They took very good care of us while we were there, including a tour of some of Dayton's interesting spots and especially a tour of St. Mary's - a fantastically beautiful historic church. We really appreciated the time they spent with us.

We're looking forward to the fall and more fiber shows. It seems that every month we have something to do for Ewe & I. Life and knitting is good right now.

Kathy tells me I have to stop knitting long enough to do a little posting. We have been having such a great time doing fiber shows, teaching classes, and working on new ideas, that the time just flies by.

I have had the pleasure recently of knitting 3 sweaters for Autumn House Farms using Harriet's yarn and our patterns. Kathy also did one using our pattern Shaded Magic. We are excited not only because Harriet Knox has such beautiful yarn, but because she will be taking them to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in the beginning of May. That is fantastic exposure for us.
We hope to work with Harriet on combining more of our patterns and her yarns.

I am very fortunate to be teaching a number of monthly classes for groups of knitters in their homes. It's a joy to be working closely with these ladies - we do occasionally get a bit rowdy, but we never fail to laugh a lot. I feel as if they are all becoming friends instead of just students.

Our next big event (big for us, anyway) is going to be doing a workshop for the Dayton Knitting Guild in the middle of May. we will be talking about 2 of our sweaters in particular, Lace Medley and Sampler Block Cardigan, and also our scarf pattern, Sampler of Reversible Stitches. While we are getting ready for that, we keep getting new ideas for Sampler Block #2, a multistitch vest, more top down sweaters - it just goes on and on.

Back to my knitting,
Wow it sure is hard to find time to blog!.
Very busy knitting new designs. I'm knitting a sweater for my grandaughter out of Berroco's Weekend. It's a great affordable yarn. Bought some more yarn for me to make a longer version. (more suitable for Grandma)
I'm designing a side to side multiple stitch cardigan knit in two pieces for two different classes. One is at My Sister's Yarn shop in Green. It's the first Sat of each month. So fun and I'm using Malabrigo's Silky Merino. Love the yarn. The other is at a small group at the Hudson Library.
Dianne and I are very busy knitting for a large workshop we are teaching for the Dayton Knitting Guild.
We had two really great shows and met so many nice people. One was in Bowling Green. It was the Black Swamp Spinning and Weaving Guild's Market Day. Lots of fab fibers.
Knitter's Fantasy in Youngstown is so great for us because we see so many old friends.
Designing a sweater for Creatively Dyed yarns. It's a top down cardigan with cables. Pretty yarn.
Need to stop blogging and get back to work.
Love to hear from old friends.
